Hellenic Veterinary Students’ Congress
It's organized by IVSA Thessaly and IVSA Thessaloniki (IVSA Greece)and it's the biggest event of each year! The participants are veterinary students who have worked on a subject of veterinary medicine with the assistance of professors from either of our 2 Faculties of Veterinary Medicine. The main goal of this congress is for our future veterinarians to get to know each other and improve their skills at social environments. For most of our participants it would be their first chance to stand in front of a crowd and present their work. This project is fully supported by the Greek Society of Veterinarians.
The mission of I.V.S.A. is:
-To improve the international standards of veterinary education and broaden the professional horizons of veterinary medicine students
-To actively promote the importance of the Veterinary Science
-To build connections between veterinary students worldwide
According to this mentality, activities currently undertaken by I.V.S.A. Thessaloniki include:
-An individual exchange programme, providing Greek Veterinary students with the opportunity to work with professional veterinary health care abroad; whilst demonstrating our Veterinary Clinics to the international community.
-Operating group exchanges for cultural learning.
-Organising events and lectures on various interesting veterinary topics.
-Hosting the Annual Meeting of Veterinary Students, a conference in which every student may present a topical speech to their peers.
-Participating in local and international veterinary conferences.
-Publishing informative leaflets for veterinary students.
-Arranging and coordinating a programme of entertaining events for students (trips, parties, film screening).

Thessaloniki (Greek: Θεσσαλονίκη [θesaloˈnici]) is the second-largest city in Greece and the capital of Greek Macedonia, the administrative region of Central Macedonia and the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia and Thrace. Its nickname is η Συμπρωτεύουσα (Symprotévousa), literally "the co-capital", a reference to its historical status as the Συμβασιλεύουσα (Symvasilévousa) or "co-reigning" city of the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire, alongside Constantinople. Thessaloniki is a popular tourist destination in Greece. For 2013, National Geographic Magazine included Thessaloniki in its top tourist destinations worldwide, while in 2014 Financial Times FDI magazine (Foreign Direct Investments) declared Thessaloniki as the best mid-sized European city of the future for human capital and lifestyle. Among street photographers, the center of Thessaloniki is also considered the most popular destination for street photography in Greece. The municipality of Thessaloniki is the most populated municipality of all the municipalities that are part of the Thessaloniki Urban Area and make up the "City of Thessaloniki". Although the population of the municipality of Thessaloniki has declined in the latest census, the metropolitan area's population is still growing. The city forms the base of the Thessaloniki Metropolitan Area, with latest census in 2011 giving it a population of 1,104,460.
IVSA Thessaloniki participates in group exchanges since 1998. Since then, we have organised many exchanges, but we want to do more every year.!!
